JUST THE BEGINNING
This started as a project built around a question I couldn’t ignore: how can we better support the health and long-term performance of female athletes?
It came from my own experience.
I’m an 18-year-old athlete committed to running Division 1 track at Yale, and I’m in the final steps of getting my EMT and NSCA Certified Personal Training License. During my development as a competitive runner, I experienced Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) and Low Energy Availability (LEA). It reshaped how I understood performance, and made something impossible to ignore: female athlete health is still misunderstood, under-discussed, and often treated as secondary to performance and appearance.
That question became the foundation of a project I created as part of an AP Statistics capstone class, supported by a teacher and mentor who pushed me to take it further than I thought I could.
I started with a literature review on female athlete health, energy availability, and the systems that shape performance. That eventually grew into a 40-page thesis that captured the entire project. The deeper I went into the research, the more clear it became that what I had experienced wasn’t isolated, and yet, it’s still significantly understudied. Training environments, coaching practices, and nutrition strategies all play a much bigger role in long-term female athlete health than I originally understood.
For my capstone, I turned that research into a live educational event focused on RED-S, fueling, and menstrual health in sport. The goal was simple: test whether education could actually shift female athletes' understanding of health and performance connections in real time.
We brought together physicians, sports nutritionists, coaches, and elite athletes. Having both scientific expertise and lived experience in the same room changed the energy completely. It created a conversation that had the capacity to change people’s lives.
Across nearly every category we measured, we saw statistically significant increases in understanding, especially around fueling, energy availability, and menstrual health in performance.
But that wasn’t the only thing that stayed with me.
It was the room of the event.
Athletes came up to me and told me how they are now thinking differently about their training and their bodies. People of all ages told me that the event changed their lives.
It stopped feeling like theory, and it certainly wasn’t just a project anymore.
It felt real.
And in that room, one thing became obvious:
This can’t stop here.
WHAT S.F.F. IS
Stronger. Faster. Fueled. is a platform focused on closing the gap between female athlete performance science and real-world coaching.
We translate research into clear, usable education for athletes, coaches, and anyone responsible for supporting performance and health in sport. This could be in the form of workouts, recipes, habits, and more. Everything is backed by professionals. I’m here to learn and journey with you, and share what I have learned throughout the process.
CORE BELIEFS
Female physiology isn’t a limitation. It’s powerful and it’s something that has to be understood
Underfueling isn’t discipline. It’s a performance and health risk
Most performance plateaus are education problems, not effort problems
Recovery, nutrition, and training have to work together
Longevity in sport matters just as much as short-term performance
WHAT YOU’LL GET HERE
Science: Research made understandable
Fueling: Nutrition and recovery for performance
Training: Training tips and workouts for female athletes
Community: Ongoing education and conversation with more live events and real athlete experience
WHY YOU’RE RECEIVING THIS
You’re here because you attended the Stronger. Faster. Fueled. event and were part of that conversation.
This is the continuation and expansion of it.
YOU’RE A FOUNDER TOO
You’re here from the very beginning. So thank you.
You’re a founder just as much as I am. Whether you share this email with others determines whether the silence is broken around female athlete health and performance.
You make this possible. You’re the reason that I envision a future with widespread access to this life-changing information. And I’m so excited to share this information and learn along the way with you all.
With your help, this community will transform how we think about health and performance throughout our lives. So please share this with everyone you know.
This future starts now.
More coming soon.
